Our Mission

We built LocalImageConverter with a simple mission: to provide a free, fast, and completely private way to convert your photos. In a world where online privacy is increasingly scarce, we believed there should be a way to convert your personal photos without handing them over to a third-party server.

The Problem

HEIC is a fantastic format for saving space on iPhones, but it can be a headache when you need to share photos or use them on non-Apple devices. Most online converters require you to upload your images, which takes time, uses data, and—most worryingly—puts your personal photos on someone else's computer.

The Solution

LocalImageConverter sends the converter to you, instead of sending your photos to the converter. By leveraging modern web technologies like WebAssembly, we run the conversion algorithm directly in your web browser. This means:
